Sony vs Lenovo

Thread Starter
I'm in a real bind and I need all the help I can get! I'm stuck on making a decision between getting the Sony Vaio SZ230 P/B or on getting the Lenovo Thinkpad T60. I've compared both systems and internally they're about the same but looks and reputations seem to be the factor. Please I need help in making a decision I'm goning to be a freshman in college next semester and I'm going into engineering I need the best notebook choice. Thanks.

OK...here's what I'm doing: waiting for August '06 and the successor to the T60 equipped with EM64T enabled Merom. But, that's me.

SONY always leaps ahead of the nearest competition; even they will be ahead of the Mac-boys now that they're INTC.

Here's an article that says that: http://www.financialexpress.com/prin...tent_id=132001
The prelude to the "flash" enabled notebook that will appear Q2 2007 that'll be Santa Rosa enabled with Robson flash: it will/should boot-up within seconds/milli- as you lift the lid of the lappy.

Read the SONY article and it's coming...

edit: I should have said if you can wait...then get the sucessor to the T60...if you need now...then compare the SONY to the ThinkPad and buy the better.

I think you may be going for a very light 12 inch v. an equiv 14.1/15 so we're speaking apples to the proverbial oranges...they're so different.

Im sorry but in terms of overal quality and stability Lenovo/IBM Kills sony. Its not even a competition. the only company that can really even come close to IBM/Lenovo quality is Asus.

If you can handle a T60 and then a SZ series you will notice how cheap and flimsy the sony feels as well that the sony has a horrible keyboard. Not to be harsh but sony products especially the laptops blow. They have some decent products but they cant live up to the sony name that was made in the trinitron days.
