Ok...100 dollar option, can someone give me a detailed review of everything included of the A/V upgrade?

The camera and you get some in-ear earbuds. That's it.

yeah basically if you want a camera built into ur laptop

And it also has the WWAN (Cellular Broadband internet access) antenna built into the screen bezel so that if you want to use Verizon's EVDO mobile internet services later, you'll just need to get a Dell Wireless 5700 Mobile Broadband CDMA EVDO mini-PCI card (I think that's what it's called but I might be wrong).

A/V Package

The A/V package also includes a built-in Hypercardioid microphone which can isolate sound. This is especially useful for me as a college student. "This means the microphone is very good at picking up sounds in front of it and blocking out ambient noise from the rear and immediate sides. It's especially good at picking up sound from a distance too, so even in a lecture hall you should be able to capture what a lecturer is saying from a distance provided the microphone is pointed in the direction of the sound source." (notebookreview.com). The A/V Package is also Skype ready cuz it has the Skype headset . Also the camera rotates. The mic and Skype were the main reasons I bought the A/V package for my XPS m1210.

Just so that there's no misconception. I payed $1402 for the notebook. But I got a 100 gift card from EPP so i just assumed that into the price stated on my signature. I've changed it now. I still think thats a good deal though.

All i can say is that i can buy a better webcam for $100 and will have the Hypercardioid microphone, at least my Logitech STX has it. And i paid $10 back then AR and PM From the reviews i've seen i can see they have similar quality. I'll pass on that. If the camera were as good as the IBM Lenovo V100 then i'd jump all over it.

Just to reiterate that really,

If you purchase the XPS M1210 without the camera, the only wireless WAN (mobile broadband) upgrade option you have is using an ExpressCard because this version of the LCD does not contain any wireless antennae for the internal WAN mini-cards.

How does Apple manage to squeeze in a tiny isight with very good image quality into their laptops, meanwhile Dell has this huge honkin camera with inferior image quality to the isight?
the isight doesnt swivel and it has no light or directional fancy microphone. as for quality, dell has a deal with logitech and couldnt use better cameras. The latter about the cameras was an assumption.

From what I have read, apple's built in camera in the Macbooks is only .3 megapixels where as dell's is 1.3 megapixels. I could be wrong though.
