i ordered a Latitude D820 through EPP, with standard ground shipping. As far as where it will go once it lands in your country i have no clue. Could depend on the carrier. UPS picked mine up in Nashville,TN then it went through a sort facility in Chicago and Oshkosh, Wi before being delivered.

does ups still operate tomorrow since it is a national holiday? I know the post offices are closed, but just wondering if I can expect any activity.

I'm about 99% sure you won't see any activity. Thats not to say it wont go anywhere. It might be on a truck and still traveling tomorrow, but i wounldnt expect any tracking updates. I've used UPS quite a few times and i usually dont get tracking updates over the weekend so i wouldnt expect any on a national holiday either. I've had instances though where on Friday night it said the package was picked up from the shipper and by Monday morning it was at the local sorting facility. Then again, thats just weekends, not holidays, but i would guess you wont see anything.

no tracking number, the order status site's being updated, notebook stuck with the customs deptt.
the customs deptt.
what's the status there in the US regarding customs clearance? how much time does it take? here they're saying atleast 3-5 business days. i realize the mistake i made was of ordering the notebook on friday, and it landed her on saturday, and there the customs deptt is off on weekends, so i lost couple of days.
i still put the tentative date to be around July 10.

im no expert on customs, but i know it sure didnt take very long. Like i said- it was done being built on Friday so it must have been being flown over here sometime Saturday. UPS had it by Sunday afternoon so it couldnt have been in customs more than a day.

Notebook still awaiting customs clearance. minimum time they say is ~ 2 - 3 working days. my guess is it'll be through all formalities by friday, but it'll be weekends then, so on Monday the invoice from Bangalore will reach Delhi.
Date on Monday: 10th of July. <----most probable date.

the notebook has finally cleared all the halts/customs/clearances. but as they say, dell, sometimes, does act like a piece of shit.
the order status lady told me that customs clearances were done and the notebook is in delhi waiting for an 'invoice' from bangalore. the day invoice reaches their warehouse in delhi, i can receive it the same day or if unlucky the next day. now i dont understand why do they've to send the invoice after the customs clearances? i certainly lost couple of days because of that.
anyhow, she's put the delivery date as this Tuesday or Wednesday.
