So I just got a Lenovo Yoga 13. This is my review. As what I primarily do is writing and programming, having a good keyboard is critical for me, which is why a tablet alone can’t work for me, and...

Yes, but he didn't ask what the smallest 12.1" widescreen WITHOUT a dvd was, he asked what the smallest 12.1" widescreen WITH a dvd was.
I'd look at the LG 25 or the Samsung Q35 as potential winners in the "who can shave off a quarter inch" game ( 11.8 x 8.2 x 1.16 or 11.7 x 8.4 x 1.3, respectively).
This as compared to the Dell XPS1210 (11.7 x 8.7 1.22) or ASUS W5f at 12 x 8.7 x 1.22.
They all need to measure up to the Sony SZ/S series though, who shoehorns a 13.3" widescreen in a lighter weight and just a tad larger outside dimensions.

Yeah the sony laptop is nice. It is just expensive, and I question the quality of sony products. It is a very slick looking laptop tho. Apple used to have a 12.1" laptop but I think they switched to the 13.3" model now. It looks and feel heavy for its size. I sampled a coworker's.
I could buy a laptop with external DVD, since I normally rip DVDs to hard drive anyway. But if the DVD drive does not add too much more bulk, I'd prefer an internal one. It would be nice if the DVD drive was slot loading so maybe the laptop would be 1" thick.
