what kind of ram should i get? atleast 1gb, when will i be expecting the laptop?
I've read people getting the kingston 2 x 1Gb 667 mhz ram from newegg.com. That's probably where I'll get them.

You are lucky for getting the E1705 with the 7900gs. I am suffering with the 7800! Have fun with your first new laptop!

Congrats, it looks good. I am also suffering with the 7800. It gets a little warm. I don't game though so it should not be a problem. I got 2gigs of Corsair. It is also good ram.

whats the best ram, for the cheapest price? can i have 2 different brand of ram?(corsair, and what ever dell puts)? both 533mhz and what should i install on the laptop, 1st one dont really know what to do and what not to do. how do i set 1 core duo to internet/apps and 2nd games?
thanks.

I got the g.skill 2x1gb 667mhz from newegg and it works great!

You can mix ram sizes and brands but it's always better to have matching sticks.

what's this talk about suffering with a 7800??
and Corsair's always the best. NEVER go for the cheapest

found a corsair 1 gig for $70 on newegg, is this the right price? or am i paying too much? where else can i get memory?
mwave.com is my personal favorite.
newegg screwed me over on my first order and I've never gone back to them and never will
but that's just me..
and $70 seems hella cheap, but I never get the cheapest one, I prefer something like 2nd or 3rd from the highest. highest is usually way too expensive for little gain and 2nd or 3rd is usually what used to be the highest, but is now cheaper

In my opinion, you should just go get whatever you can afford & find most comfortable with. I mean the most expensive stuff (in this case, it's the RAM) does not always means it's the best & vice versa. You may still get the possibility that the most expensive RAM you buy may turn out to be problematic (I hope not, touch wood). This kind of thing happens to almost everything. So as I mentioned earlier, I think you should just get something you're comfortable with (in terms of pricing) & also able to afford... Good luck.
