Im trying to use WinLIRC (program which allows you to use ur PC's infrared port to receive and decode signals from ordinary remote controls ie a TV remote). However, it requires an infrared device attached to a "COM" communications port. I tried installing the generic "Serial Cable via Infra Red Protocol" device, but when it asks to choose what COM port the infrared device is attached, it just hangs. Does anyone know how to make WinLIRC work with an M6Va (z70va).. or what COM port the infra red device is attached to internally (if any) ??
