Is there some type of laptop sleeve that will cover the laptop? It will protect the cover from scratches, dings etc.

Targus makes a pretty good one called the Sleeveskin. I picked it up for 20.99$ at Best Buy for the 15.4" it fit's just right. I like it. Dell sells it from there website but it's 10.00$ more!

Do any of these sleeves work for e1405 laptops?

Sincei t seems it covers much will they heat the laptop enough to shut it down?

Well you don't keep it in there when you have it running...it's more of a case to keep it in when it's not in use...There are some that are made to always keep on kinda like a cell phone case...makes it look like a briefcase, but I would think that would be wayyy to bulky.

Then, what would be the best case for carrying around the e1405?

When I am using the laptop, what would be the best cover slip-on for this laptop? I move it and slide here and there and don't want the body scratch and dinged up.

Thanks!

hmmm I dunno so basically you want something for say...running from your house to starbucks to toss it in while it's still running and then taking it back out once you get to the place? I dunno maybe you could use the case I have I don't know if it's ok or not to keep it running though may want to check with someone else.

That not quite what I meant. Using the laptop while in the sleeve will that cause too much heat buildup? Unzip sleeve, laptop still in sleeve, put laptop with sleeve underneath on your lap and start using notebook. This is the scenario I am talking about.

Not running the laptop and enclosing it inside the sleeve.

Hmmm I don't think it'd be and issue, why not just put it on your lap though lol.

I know it sounds funny, but I feel I would be covering the air vents underneath and would be suffocating the notebook. Then, eventually leading up to heat buildup and poof bye bye Dell laptop.

Am I wrong?

Isn't the sleeve covering the bottom of the laptop then if you're using on one???

I get what your trying to say...it's just not making any sense unless i'm an idiot no one answer that question

With a sleeve it has a flat surface where putting the notebook on your lap/knees curve and could block airway by slipping into the groove.

Am I going off the deep end here?

I guess I see it the opposite way. With a sleeve it would be flexible (unless you had a hard case sleeve?) and block the vents as well as the entire bottom and thus cause more heat buildup. On my lap I have basically just the very left and right edges touching my legs, so it can still breathe underneath with no problems. Now maybe you have your legs all the way together when using a laptop or maybe my legs are firmer than yours? I hope I didn't get to personal there

As an alternative, in the past I have used a folding laptop platform that is for your lap, as well as even a cutting board. The latter was thin, plastic, and perfectly sized to put in a regular laptop case so you could take it with you - but not really meant to be put in a sleeve.
