Quickset

Is there a way to have all the "Fn" keys work correctly without using quickset? I uninstalled it shortly after I got my E1505, but then realized my favorite shortcut (to pop the DVD drive open) wasn't working anymore. I thought that was weird, because other shortcuts (turn wireless on/off, screen brightness) were still working. I reinstalled it and everything worked again... but that seems like a big program for such a small bit of functionality. Also, does it really need to sit the tray?

Anyhow, if anybody knows of a way to get rid of quickset and still have the Fn keys works... please let me know

Nope. You need quickset.

But some Fn keys work without it... ? (brightness, wireless switch).

I guess the answer is "some do, some don't" but it's mildly frustrating.

I agree it is sorta cool... but useful also. I don't know about yours, but the eject button of my drive is pretty much flush with the drive itself, not exactly easy to find by touch alone.

it's flush but a little lower I guess...i can find it if i rub slowly, not a big deal but the fn + f10 is a cool feature!
