I have to pretty much agree with you. I thought the 15.4" form factor was the best in terms of screen size and weight, but now that I've had this laptop for a year, it's barely moved from my desk. I definitely want something like the A8JM with a DVI port so I can have more mobility and attach it to a big ol' LCD when it's at my desk. Best of both worlds.

dont want to start anything, but there are things called bestbuy, compusa, etc. Where they have 15.4in laptops on display, would at lest give u a feel and a over all size of the laptop before you buy one.

They lock down the entire notebook chassis in every so called Best Buy or CompUSA, etc that you refer to. No possible way to pick a notebook up to feel it. I bought a notebook, I didn't like it, I returned it. I now state my opinion of that notebook. The Ferrari isn't for me, because of the size. It would have been too big whether I bought it and returned it like I did, or if I "should have known better before purchaisng a notebook of that size" and never bought one to begin with. Too big for my preference is too big for my preference. Period. Once again, I say get off my back for stating an opinion that a fanboy like you doesn't share.

um am not a "fanboy" i dont even have a 15.4in laptop anymore,

i went with something smaller,

As for returning your notebook, good thats what i would have done.

And in ohio, we can check out the notebooks on display @ bestbuy etc all you do is ask a sales rep. And you can request to do the same at your local store.(even if they have them locked up)

And i never got on your back about your reasoning...

My point was that it seemed like the size of the notebook surprised you. I was never bashing. I said in my opinion it wasnt too heavy. But they are right, if you didnt know what to expect, then go somewhere and try it out. And i dont think recognizing solid performance makes me a fanboy. Had it been a Dell Inspriron E1505 we were talking about, I would have said the same thing... When making a major purchase, surprises should be avoided .

I owned a Ferrari 4002 basicly a lower end 4006 and it was by far the worse laptop I have ever owned. So even though I really hate Intel I would say get the Intel ASUS.

6.5lbs is way too heavy for me. When you're running to and from airports all the time like I am, you realyl start appreciating the size and weight of a 4lb notebook.

Plus, 15.4" becomes a problem in coach class. When the passenger in front of you leans his/her seat back, your notebook lid is likely to get caught in the food tray storage area, and face the risk of cracking.

I agree.. when I first had my Z70va.. I thought it was just the perfect size and weight. But when I started to bring it while traveling.. that's when I realized I needed something smaller.. A 15.4 is not comfortable to use in planes. That's why I got the W3J instead.
