Aviator AX9 - Fans not working!

I've had my AX9 for about 2 weeks and earlier today when I was using it I noticed it got insanely hot...usually it doesn't even get mildly warm. So I turned it off and let it cool down and turned it back on...still got insanely hot! Soooo I flipped it over, unscrewed the cover over the 2 video cards and processor and come to find out none of the fans are spinning....well ONE fan would spin but that was on and off everytime I rebooted. And neither was the fan near the hard drive. But right when I turned on the comp they all start spinning but then they stop shortly after...sooooo wtf!

Haven't had that problem myself on my AX9. Defintely a dangerous situation. I presume you will be contacting Hyper post-haste?

Yeah, I emailed them about it. But I'd figure I'll try here too!

This pic can help show which fans spin..sometimes!

The 2 fans over the video cards will only turn on right when I boot up, then shut off.
The fan in the hard drive compartment will only turn on right when I boot up, then shut off.
The CPU cooling vent will turn on when I boot up..stay on for a few then turn off and SOMETIMES it will turn on and stay on after that.
The other fan below the CPU cooling went will turn on when I boot up...stay on for a few then turn off and SOMETIMES it will turn on and stay on after that.

Pretty weird!

it may be controlled by a sensor and only come on when temps get high...my EX7 will run on low untill the temp gets to a certain degree and ten they go t high and when it cools down a bit the fans slow back down....I have to get with tech support one day in the next week to see if that is normal...my fans are set to constantly run in the Bios

well, as I said before the laptop NEVER got anywhere near 'hot'. And yesterday the thing was extremely hot, 'too hot to put on your lap' type hot. The CPU was about 71 degrees Celsius(about 160 degrees Fahrenheit) and still, NONE of the FIVE!!!!! fans wouldn't turn on. Like you said, your fans would run LOW...mine don't run period.

And the bios contains no way of controlling or checking on the fans, the temperature...nothin'!

yup..sounds like a call to tech support is in order......call the after hours support..I have delt with them twice and they were great to work with...you place a call and the person will have a tech call you back...he called me back within 10 minutes..but they ask you give em an hour to call back..I was pleased with the results both times I called the after hours non Hypersonic tech service......they are in the USA so language wont be a problem..you night say I got better support from them than the last time I called durring business hours..that was 2 weeks ago and still waiting to hear back from hypersonics tech support...I am gonna call them again this week .I do think that over 70c is too hot ..for yours and my machine...I am gonna design and build a laptop cooler...I looked at those on the net and think I can do better..I am gonna make one to use like a portable table and also be able to use it on your lap......this way while traveling I can still use it comfortably..I already have converter to run it off the power plug in our Durrango......heat seems to be an issue on these machines....my hard drive dont have fans...only video card..memory and cpu has fans on the bottom and I keep my system jacked up so I get good air flow under it

Yeah, I'm gonna call tech support soon as I get a phone they can call me back on! I'd have them call back to my ship buuuuut we're not suppose to use these phones! :x

And 70c is too hot, especially since I wasn't playing a game and like I said this thing ran perfect without even getting warm before yesterday and it'd be on for like 10hrs at a time+..this time I noticed the heat within the first hour.

have you opened any of the compartments on the bottom and checked for loose or disconected fan wires...and while you there look at the components and see if any electronics look like they are getting burned from heat........something has got to of failed in your system...

Yeah, I originally said I opened it and saw the fans not spinning. Yeah I smelled around, looked around, nothing looked burned out or disconnected. I know SOMETHING is failed and I don't think it was caused by heat because I had NO heat issues before the fans stopped working...but what causes FIVE fans to not work correctly...makes no sense cuz they all turn on when I turn the laptop on!!

any word on the problem

well, I did some testing...apparently 2 of the fans are working correctly now. The smaller fan over the CPU turns on at 49c, the larger fan over the CPU turns on at 54c and they both turn off at 45c.

The hard drive fan still hasn't turned on and the temp has gotten up to 56c.

I don't know the temps on my 2 Video cards, but they got damn hot and neither fan came on!

edit: Apparently my cards were up to 119c WITHOUT me playing any game or anything! Got that temperature from Ntune so I dunno how accurate it was.

I called 'em and he had no idea why 3 of the fans wouldn't work right so he said I'm gonna have to send it in. He emailed me the shipping label that I have to print...soooo we'll see!!

These cards do get hot, but the temps that he reported raised an eyebrow. I haven't seen too many overheating issues with these yet, so I still think it is an isolated incident.

Finally managed to get it shipped out yesterday! And its already in CA (since they gave me the next day air shipping label), sooooo we'll see how long it takes to fix my fan problems!

annnnnnd it has arrived at HS at 10:45am!

I emailed Steve about possibly upgrading the video cards seeing as the 7900s weren't an option when I first ordered it. He said it would be $485 to upgrade and would delay my system by up to a week. I'm assuming the $485 is the difference between the 7800s and the 7900s! But either way, I'm gonna upgrade!!!
I was lucky........they came out with the 7900 while mine was being built and they sent me a free upgrade right after I recieved my system...I did send them the 7800 back, my system with the 7900 was cheaper by over a 100 bucks with the 7800..it was great of them to take note of this since it was available for a few weeks prior to them sending my system out ...and seeing how the price was over a 100 bucks less they included a koskin case, which was great of them........I sure hope hypersonic or clevo does some research and come up with a bettery battery and charger so the EX7 can charge faster and the battery life last longer...I would pay for it in a heartbeat
