Hi, first of all let me say happy 4th, enjoy the fireworks! OK so I just purchased a Sony FJ from Best Buy, I switched from an Asus Z70Va and so far I haven't regreted it yet. However, I have noticed that the laptop, when turned off, emits a slight buzzing sound. It does this even when its plugged in or not. Only when I take out the battery it stops. It is a slight noise and when the AC is on in my house I can't hear it but when its dead silent it is noticable. It seems to be coming from the bottom of the notebook, exactly where the memory modules are. I tried replacing the memory with a high quality Kingston memory but the noise is still present when the thing's off. My guess now is that its coming from the motherboard itself. I was wondering if the notebook is defective, and if anyone else has experienced the same problem, if not with Sony laptops then other brands. I certainly did not experience this with my previous Asus laptop. Thanks for your help!
