WOW on 8204

I just got an Acer TM 8204 and was wondering if anyone else had problems playing World of Warcraft using the internal wireless card. Most of the time I get booted and never establish a connection to the servers. Other online games work fine by the way. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

WoW screws network. Don't know why but it really does. I noticed that after I changed from Intel to Atheros based mini-PCI wireless card it got better but still occasional drops. Even on wired network WoW used to get some routers stuck (required router reboot). That is the nature of WoW

How much better did it get? How bad was it in the first place? Also, which wireless cards are atheros based? Thanks for the reply.

I think the problem is with my router. I went to my girlfriend's house and it works beautifully. I will have to start working on that instead. Thanks for the help anyway.

I've noticed that this is a problem with certain wifi access points/routers. I've got a friend who uses the Intel 2915 card in his Dell 9200 and he doesn't have any problems playing WoW at his place, but will run into problems at some of the free wifi places around his work.

try opening up your firewall ports, check your settings per WOW website..for router also
