Battery Problems

Hi guys,

Mobile meter is telling me that my battery wear level is 56%, a total charge has 1731mWh of charge, whereas from the factory it has 4000. I have hardly used this laptop on battery until recently, where i found I could only get an hour of word processing out of it with the processor locked down to 500Mhz with the "P" button.

Is there anything I can do?
Is it even worth calling Alienware, I mean, I have a 3 year old dell which can still give me 2 hours of battery life, and it has a 3.0Ghz p4 in it!

This wear is unacceptable.

try calling them. perhaps theyll send u a replacement.

i have a similar problem with my battery. it began deteriorating only after maybe 3 months. its now at 86% wear level (less than 15 mins of usage before the low batt alert starts beeping). odd thing is that im still able to get about 2 hrs of usage...i just have to tolerate the beeping for about 105 mins. so im not even sure if my battery is bad or my system is just not reading the battery properly.
