Replacing palm rest is to solve the keyboard flex, at least that's what he told me! But I was like, "oh, I'll leave things as they are as I need a few days to consider all my available options!" I mean, swapping those two parts is like changing quite a significant amount of my NEW laptop!!! Furthermore, the tech confirmed with me that the parts replacement will probably be refurbished!!! I know this is not his fault & he has got his own restrictions on certain things but refurbished parts for my less than a week old M1210?!?!? What's up with Dell??? It seems like I took that 30% off at a great expense (in terms of quality)!!! As I said earlier, this just makes me wonder whether I'll get the same kind of s*** if I bought it at their normal prices, that is without any discounts....
Did they say what they were replacing it with? I'm not messing around with them replacing it with the same crap. It's not defective, just horribly cheap of Dell to put this LCD in their top of the line laptops.
