I did a search for this, but I am not too sure of the proper key words so I apologize if this has been covered.
I have a Dell C600 and the battery recently died, so I purchased a new one (Dell replacement, not aftermarket). I popped in the new battery and all was fine. A few days ago I did a clean install of Windows to start fresh (and wipe out the spyware) and when it came back up the battery 'gauge' in the bottom right hand corner told me that I was on AC Power when in fact the cord was disconnected.
I ran the BIOS upgrade that came with the battery to no avail. I should also mention that this is the same version (heck, same disk) of Windows that I was running previously without any issues.
Thoughts?
