are you guys planning to buy merom or the surfacing of merom to drop the price of old laptops.

i just dropped 1200 bucks on a E1505 on last nights 10 days of savings, i wake up this morning, i can have the same specs on my E1505 on the E1705 for only 150 more!

Now the question is should I cancel my order (its been less then 12 hours) and go with the 17inch...and if tommrow the 17inch is out and an XPS deal is in... =D

Kui, it depends on what you really want... If you want a bigger size screen, then call Dell to make the change (or cancel & reorder) the E1705. If you want a more portable laptop, then keep your order for an E1505.

My opinion is that the most important thing (other than the price of course) is to try to buy what you want... I mean with computers, there is this saying that "you'll always get a better deal tomorrow!!!" Know what I mean???

I have an I9300 which is the 17 inch version and its quite a big laptop...its NOT as portable asa 15 inch, regardless of what people tell you. You cant just stuff the 17 inchers into a backpack and off to class...doesnt work that well.

i really like my friend's 17" laptop, but i'm no fool. i don't think anyone should buy anything bigger than 15" if they plan on being on the run.

Deleted double post. See below.

I have 12", 14" and 15" laptops and since I have the 12", both the 14" and the 15" stay at home forever.

The Sansa E260 and free HP bluetooth earphones are a good deal today, snapped it up for my Fiance. $204 with tax.
Would have picked up 2 but I am waiting for my Meizu miniplayer(down with the ipod).

i find it funny that even using their 10 days of deals crap its still $225 cheaper to use the $750 coupon with the e1705 lol. being on nbf is like dell's 365 days of super sales.

man if i had cash to spare, id definitely get the sandisk/bluetooth headphone deal. i could use the headphones AND the player or atleast my sister could. wish ihad cash on me.

Yeah, that was a good deal. But I want to buy a laptop from dell, not an mp3 player... (M1210 preferably)

I already bought the laptop and won't be buying another one until I pay this one off. Just couldn't pass up the deal when my Fiance smiled at me and said, "Can I have it?".

Throw em all in Canada? What does that mean? I'm Canadian.

The logitech remote looks good for the home entertainment center, but thats about it. No REAL good deals today

^Yeah, yet another day of craptacular deals computer wise (nice accessories though). I guess Dell really will save the best deals for last.

Would love to see some XPS deals on day 9 or 10. I need to look into notebooks for school, and I want a 1210 pretty bad. If they dont have any XPS deals this time around, I'll probably end up getting a e1505.

Hey guys, new to the forums here. I have been lurking for a couple weeks but i had to post a reply here when i saw todays deal on the e1505

I am looking for a well rounded laptop to take back to college this fall. I am a computer science major entering my 3rd year at my uni.

The specs look decent on this laptop and you can get it for $733.00 SHIPPED!
What an amazing deal.

Question - Can discounts (coupon codes) be applied to this as well?
And - Do you think it would be wise to wait for an XPS system isntead of this?

All i really want to do on this laptop is surf, email, and the occassional java, C++ development, and html stuff. Nothing too big.

Thanks mates

In my opinion, today's E1505 deal is not too bad if you're going for the base config that they're offering with the exception of adding the ATI X1400 GPU for a price of $798 before taxes. Of course if you're gonna max it out, then you're better off using the $750 off $1999 coupon.

Yeah, wish they could have come up with something better... going by this cycle, I'll predict that tommorrow's deal is gonna be the E1705....

Hey mate thanks for the reply. My parents just told me they would put $250 towards it, so $500 for that system seem pretty good? Can you use more coupons?

SPEEDwithJJ, how do you like your 1705 system?
