If it's for school, try configuring through your IT webpage-most schools can get a student discount. I get $1404 with tax, shipping, and three-year warranty for the Dell.

from Dell-

Don't blame you. Given the choice between an Alienware and a Dell, I went with the Sentia.

so we just got an email that they are out of screens for the sentia, typically how long do these delays last? Should we just cancel? We need it before august 26
post #8 of 11
U never know, could be a week, others have waited to the point where the laptop they ordered was discontinued and AW was very unhelpful during the wait and helping once it was determined they could never get what they ordered.

I would try to get another lappie imo

yeah... we'll see if the webcam is causing the delay and see if they can ship it without it, we dont really want the webcam anyway... i was thinking about just ordering a area 51 m5500 but the screens on those are backordered too, i guess alienware has been selling alot lately.

How ever long it takes their supplier to get them. Generally, it may take a week or less to get them in. Sometimes if AW is under a heavy load it could take longer. What's the original estimated shipping date? It should get there in plenty of time I would think.
