nVidia.com now lists the new drivers for the 7900gtx card and they list my EX7 along with all the other Hypersonic laptops that have either the 7800 or 7900gtx as supported by the new drivers....but when I tried to install them ..got the pop up saying that the drivers dont support my hardware..can you look into this...I did download the latest drivers from yalls site and they did install with no problem, this could be a problem because nVidia does a good job at improving drivers and we may not be able to get them, I have noticed that yall do update drivers but not as often as some of the hardware makers do........could you look into this for us.......is it just my machine or is this happening to all hypersonic laptops with the 7900gtx card....maybe you could download them and try to install them into one of yalls machine there at hypersonic that has the 7900gtx card and see if this is a problem with with all Hypersonic laptops............maybe yall could also contact Nvidia if you find this is a problem with all the ex7 with a 7900gtx card....I do know when I had the 7800gtx card I could use the drivers from nVidia......I sure hope you can help solve this problem....being a gamer.....updated video drivers is very important me and I am sure its important to others also...

here is the link to the drivers @ nvidia's site...yalls driver version is 84.26 and the version from nvidia is 84.63....and it has a lot of fixes and enhancements ........

lol, well like I said, he had already told me that you need a certain .inf file to be able to install those drivers!

well how to we get that file

I already downloaded and tried to install these yesterday with the same problem. If you look closely, there is no *.ini file in the package which I am sure is causing the problem. I notified Nvidia and got the following reply to my response which was pretty pathetic in my opinion. If they don't work, then they should pull them:

I have a HyperSonic Aviator EX7 notebook with the GeForce Go 7800 GTX 256MB DDR3 video card. I just uninstalled the previous 83.40 ForceWare driver package from your site and tried to install the new 84.63 release posted today. However, when it runs, it states that there is no supported hardware and then exits. Could you check to make sure there is not a problem with this package because I do not even see the .ini file in the package that shows the driver ID strings for specific hardware.

Thanks,
Dennis Strickland

Thank you for contacting NVIDIA Customer Care.

The problem you cite is already noted and will be fixed at a undisclosed date in the future. To be alerted by email when the next display driver is released, please sign up for the NVIDIA Newletter from the following URL:

Have you guys considered laptopvideo2go modded inf drivers?
Ice Tea basically states what I would have stated. One thing to remember is that Hypersonic has nothing to do with the drivers, creation, modification, etc. The most they do is ensure that a stable version is available for download from their support site.

Laptopvideo2go and some other driver mod sites normally create the good packages that contain the appropriate *.ini files to install on mobile graphic cards. Some of the manufacturers are getting better with their continued support of mobile graphic cards, but it has not been to unusual for them to leave driver update packages to system manufacturers to distribute. That's why Laptopvideo2go, Omega drivers, etc, became my first stop for checking for newer drivers (from my ATI to my nVidia cards).

Heres the answer they gave me!

Question: When I try to Install the 91.28 ForceWare on my laptop, it says "The nVidia setup program could not locate any drivers that are compatible with your current hardware. Setup will now exit." I have 2 GeForce 7800 Go 7800 GTX 256mb cards running in SLI on my laptop. Sooo, I went and downloaded the most up to date drivers for it (which are already installed), but I figured why not! So when I tried to install the 83.40 ForceWare Mobile driver and I got the same message as the other install. Sooo, whats wrong?

Answer: Thank you for contacting NVIDIA Customer Care.

Display drivers for notebook GPU's are custom made for the notebook make and model they are used in to support some of the hot plug n play features your notebook supports. For this reason, the desktop Forceware display drivers which are available on our website will not work on your notebook. We are sorry however you will need to visit the website of your laptop manufacturer for customer display drivers for your notebook. If your notebook manufacturer's display drivers are outdated and you require a newer display driver, you may try www.laptopvideo2go.com. This website hosts desktop display drivers which have been modified to install on a notebook. Please keep in mind that since these drivers do not contain any customizations for your notebook, they may not work as well as those provided by your laptop manufacturer nor are they supported by the maker of your laptop or NVIDIA.

Yup. That was exactly what I was talking about above. That standard answer in support of getting drivers for their graphic cards (or atleast their chipsets).

The third party sites are almost always a better bet. Me... I am still using the same drivers as I have been when the machine arrived. Just because the system performs exceptionally well - and I don't try to fix things that aren't broke. I used to - to keep up benchmarks. But since I got out of that - it is a lot less stressful. The only time I look for newer drivers is if I am having a problem.

Good luck on your finds!

Nice information, but this is mising the point. Nvidia now offers official mobile ForceWare drivers through their site directly. However, the latest 84.63 drivers just posted on July 5 will not even install due to a missing config file. They know about the problem but still have not even pulled the drivers. Also, this is pretty pathetic as far as testing and quality control go in my opinion.

I agree DW,,,,,,this aint like nvidia...they should pull the drivers at least...but the new drivers on hypersonic work good enough till nvidia updates the problem........they are better than the clevo's,,,the clevos are from video2 go, I am running a bit cooler with hypers than I was with 2go's from clevo

I find the official ForceWare mobile drivers the best option in my opinion since they are specifically tailored for mobile use. In fact, by reading the ForceWare guide, it tells you each fix and modification only for the mobile arena. Therefore, I still think mobile ForceWare 83.40 is the best driver set until Nvidia releases a new set. They need to put the 83.40 version back as the latest mobile drivers since 84.63 is dead on arrival

One note I forgot to mention is that the mobile ForceWare 83.40 does not support GeForce Go 7900 GTX; it only supports GeForce Go 7800 GTX. Therefore, the 84.22 from Clevo or 84.24 from HyperSonic/Sager are the only options for current 7900 GS/GTX users.

Hope this helps!

the 84.24 will run the card a little cooler.........I first had the clevo drivers,,,they are the go2 drivers...........I installed the hyper drivers and they work better and my temps dropped 5c.........
Also, HyperSonic sometimes posts desktop ForceWare drivers in the mobile section with the modded .inf at times. However, I do believe the 84.26 drivers are actual mobile drivers from Clevo because Sager has them posted on their site.

I still think the mobile ForceWare drivers officially from Nvidia are the way to go, so hopefully they will have a new release soon that supports the GeForce Go 7900 GS/GTX as well as the already supported GeForce Go 7800 GTX.

Nvidia has now posted the updated (corrected) 84.63 official mobile ForceWare drivers on their site. They support the GeForce Go 7900 GTX, 7900 GS, and 7800 GTX. As stated earlier, if you have one of those cards, I think the official mobile ForceWare driver packages straight from Nvidia are the best way to go.
