1.5.0.4 Thunderbird MADNESS!

Hi guys, i just reinstalled windows on my h.d.d. And installed firefox 1504 just fine, however i cant say the same about Thunderbird.

I download the thunderbird installer from mozilla webpage just fine, but when I execute the file i get a

Code:
 7-ZIP : Unspecified Error

And this is driving me insane . I have no idea why its doing this, hell, I dont even use 7 zip.

Any ideas what this could be?

That's because (I guess) the thunderbird package uses the 7-zip compression program. Nothing weird on that, if you consider that 7-zip is free and open source... Too bad the client is awful.

Try to get a new copy of the file... my first guess would be CRC sum error, but it displayed an "unspecified error"...

Hum, the installer downloads as a .exe though, its not zipped.

I'll keep trying.

Maybe it is zipped but self-exctracting. Like those RAR files with .exe extensions.

(not exactly what I call typical SFX files, but yes, you're right) try to find another copy of the file. ps.: 7-zip original extension is .7z

I'm downloading with explorer, just for the hell of it, see if it does anything.

I have winrar, which extracts .7z files, but it wont let me extract the Thuderird installer, it just allows me to compress it.

So i uninstalled winrar, and deleted all the thunderbird /tmp files. So ill see, with the explorer download.

Or maybe download the older thunderbird and update from within?....
