As you can see, I am badly in need of a new laptop for the new school year and am torn between these two. Gaming performance is good, though not for the newest games and not hardcore. I still have my desktop for that (3400+, 6800gt) but would like to be able to play some games at decent settings. Build quality is very important, as I need this to last for a few years.

Battery life is not a determaning factor, nethier is weight. I just don't know if the w3j is worth the higher price, even though it may have better build quality.

Reliablility, build quality, and build materials are the biggest deciding factor. Budget is $1800 max.

Man....I'm in the same boat although I threw a monky rench in my mix by also considering the Asus A8JM.

hmmmmmmmmmm.............

Well, after seeing the W7, I am pretty impressed.
The build quiality is nice and not cheap, however, it is not as cool as the W3, but WHAT IS?

If I had to choose, I would go W3J.

My real dilemma is W3J vs A8JM.

If GAMING was my only concern, the A8JM.
If LOOKS were my main concern, then W3J.

I have loved the W3 design from the beginning, and would get it no matter what. It is such a beauty.

How is the A8JM build quality compared to the W7? We all know the W3 not only looks good, but is built real sturdy.

I am curious about that myself. From what I have heard the two are very comparable. I have yet to see an A8JM in person though.

Build quality is more important than gaming ability for me, so it looks like the w3 is winning so far. It is $300 more though, but within my budget

you know, I'm starting to think the W7J is a bad compromise. It's small, but the battery life doesn't make it very portable compared to other 12-13", and the thin palm rests makes heat noticeable. While its GPU isn't as powerful as those on a 14".
