The Official NBF v3.0 Bug Report Thread - Page 4

I have to observatoins to make.

First the look is nice, better than the old light style, but would be nicer if it were a little darker.

But my two main issues.

1. on larger threads the scroll bar for preveous posts scrolls from left to right so the more recent posts you may want to brouse have to be scrolled over to,

Shouldn't the most recent posts be there first, then if you want the much older nes, use the scroll bar.

2. Repping window appears well below the user intended, and I found often it keeps dissapearing when you try to mouse over to the window to give rep. took several tries to get it done.

Thanks I do know that setting up a board this size takes a crap load of work. Kudos for all the hard work you have done here

This is an issue with the way vbulletin is getting it's coordinates for the popup window(s). With a non-customized vbulletin site, the forums extend to 100%. Ever since I created the side bar, this started and I'm not sure why. If anything I would expected it to be horizontally offset. Anyway, all the formatting in vbulletin's javascript files have been taken out do to people apparently stealing there code. It makes reading and fixing the function very difficult. I have sent a message to vbulletin regarding this. We'll have to wait to see what they say.

The minimum width of the forums is meant to be displayed at 1024x768. So the site tries it's hardest to keep things fit. This was the easiest solution I could come up with to maintain consistency. Really huge threads, in my opinion should be closed and a new one started - vBulletin already has speed issues processing gynourmous threads. It's rather server intensive. It is not a priority for me mess with vbulletin's paging system on threads with thousands of pages. I can try look into later though. Thanks for your suggestions. Note - there's a lot of little things in terms of graphics that need to be touched up and what not.... We will be fixing stuff up over the next few days still. This was a huge change - a HUGE redesign, from the inside out... I feel like I've had about an hour of sleep a night for the past 6 months Thanks again

I only have one thing that I would like to bring up- It would be nice to have the User Control Panel link in a bold color like Red or something to that effect so that it will stand out more. To me it gets lost in the other links surrounding a users profile.

Other than that, I really like the site.

There appears to be a resizing glitch when large images are posted. Darq has some screenshots of it.

Kudos over all after I figured a few tweaks this is the fastest I have seen NBF load at work in a long time. Bugs be damned this is a great upgrade.

Thanks for the red highlighted User Control Panel link. It is much easier to distinguish from the other links.

Wow thanks

Keep it up Shaun, but I would suggest taking Steve's admin powers away before he breaks something.

So are we actually going to have a use for the credits system now?

In the not too distant future, we are. The vB add-on has been added. It just needs to be configured.

I mentioned this to Steve in the RET before, on user profiles I don't get a text box in the message area. Same thing for group pages. If I click on "go advanced", the box shows up.

Then why are you telling me this, don't you have work to do?

IE7 (I think). It may just be a glitch on my work machine, I had no problems last night on my home machines.

take a look at the FRT, the images that used to require horizontal scrolling, are now crammed into a smaller area, which buggers up the image. ETA: it fuzzifies text on the images, look here picture wasn't huge, but larger than it is now and the text was clear. yellow/beige color is teh sux. lots of wasted space on the right side. especially after you scroll past the last box, just miles and miles of black.

We need to install the image resizer mod again. That's why those images are fooked. Yellow badge color is bad. Trying to figure out a better color.

Maybe make the blocks on the right side "dynamic" where they scroll down with you. Granted only the last part will always be shown.

Another option would be to instead of limiting the "top" to top 5, make it by dynamic as well. Say instead of top 5, be top 25% (height of page)

Not sure if it's been mentioned before, but I just noticed it.

If you receive a PM, then the "Private Messages: Unread 0, Total 132." part of the user block on the right disappears. Only way to get to your inbox is by going to your control panel.

Also I just noticed, I have 4 benchmarks that I've done on the same system. (4 different programs) yet it still only says Benchmarks: 2 under my name.
