Hi there !!!

Hp pavilion gets me crazy.....
I wanna buy a new notebook ,it will be my first time to buy a notebook .

I got stucked on 2 laptops : HP Pavilion ---dv4392ea and ---dv5164ea.
the 2 laptops has common things like :
the 2 is : Hp pavilion
Widescreen 1280*800
80GB of hard Disk
DVD writer Dual format
Remote control
10/100 LAN Ethernet
wireless LAN -Intel Pro 2200 802.11b\g
Altec Lansing speakers
and anther things

but the main difference between them is :

dv4392ea has : intel pentium M 760 , single core @ 2.0Ghz
ATi mobility X700 128 dedicated + 128 shared

dv5164ea has : intel core due T2300 ,dual core @ 1.66Ghz
nVidia Go 7400 128 dedicated + 128 shared

I'm planning to buy a laptop to use it for work and for games as well, I hate my corent desktop PC cuz it stops in the middle of the NBA 2004 ,it really sucks .
so which 1 I should buy ? ,keep in mind the dv4392 is cheaper than the dv5164 222$(American) and its battery get empty faster.

All other integrated solutions (GMA 900, 950 etc.)

*Dependant on memory attached to side port
^system mem bus width
% Covers entire series, pretty awful due to high power consumption and generally poor arc, 5700go would rate a little higher but those above it perform much better in DX9 titles such as HL2 therefore they get stuck at the bottom.

Credit where credit is due, recently Neeyik (http://www.neeyik.info/3dspecs/) has really helped get core details.

Update: Downgraded the x1300 and x1400 to propper positions

dv4000 has a better graphics card. but processor isn't so great.

dv5000 has a newer processor, but the graphics card is only mediocre.

i'd go with the dv4000... only question is where are you getting it? i thought the x700 option was discontinued.

BTW: Several days ago on 7-07 I sent you a PM with info, did you ever get it? Showing as read but I never heard back from you.

I'll suggest to stay away from the DV4000 with x700 if you do need intensive graphics. The x700 has overheat problem in some games and causes the system to shut down. I have a DV4000 with x700, but I never use it for games so it is not a problem for me. This is the main reason they have removed x700 from the DV4000 and V4000t options.
