The problem is not if a x1600 or 7600 can fit in ..its Dell, if you whant a lappy for gaming you have to go with m1710 or e1705 its the only choice you have and i think if you have the choice for a e1505 with x1600 or 7600 they will lose some sales on those lappy...for some of us 17 inch its just to big and to expensive.and Dell knows this.
I just finished Prey, the latest FPS from 3DRealms last night. Played entirely on laptop, installation on an external SATA2 WD drive connected via USB2.0. And apart for a few times (wide landscapes), it ran smoothly from start to end with settings set to Medium-High.
So 1400 is not bad at all, thought a 7600 with own memory would be better.
What I would improve in mine, not necessarily for games, is the slow SATA 5400 I have right now
