My Acer ez dock is out of warranty and its USB ports have stopped functioning. working.
Acer's policy is to not offer repairs on any computer peripherals once they are out of warranty and should they agree to work on a peripheral the minimum service charge is $449.95. To add insult to injury they will not recommend any service center to repair any of out of warranty peripherals. If their warranty was strong and tranferrable perhaps this pill could be swallowed. This is not teh case so this is news any potential ACER peripheral buyer should know.
I don'tknow how this strikes anyone else but in my opinion this is a first class corporate rip-off. In essence, any ACER peripherals is junk the moment it's warranty expires and a problem arises. This policy will certainly negatively impact consideration of any Acer product in my future buying decisions.
I live in Florida. Can anyone recommend a service center that they'd trust to do a repiar on an ez dock? If somebody can't fix this thing I have to trash with less than 200 hours of use on it. Thanks, Dennis
