Thread Starter
I have gotten the windows blue screen of death about four times on my new laptop, that is the error report and info. Im trying to identify what it is.

I have gotten this error about four times already and I have no idea whatsoever what is causing it, the last time it happened was 5min ago when I tried to turn on Asus Power4Gear, but I dont know if this is what caused it.

Thankyou

I did some research something possible with power options, not sure yet.

What was the last thing you installed if your getting errors in you TEMP file I would think that it is something trying to finish installing possiable.

I googled the event ID and several sources came up indicating ASP.net???

Something to do with ASP? Net Framework?

I have had the error since the second day I got the laptop, ive installed lots of things, I wouldnt know.

My finger is starting to slowly point at netframework 2.0?

I just disabled the ASP.net State Service, to see if I get the BSOD again anytime soon.

What exactly is ASP.net State Service? Is it needed?
What do you need .net for? I have yet to find a program that needs it in daily computer usage Internet/gaming etc..

I was using it for NHC, but I uninstalled NHC after I found it rather useless. So I just uninstalled Net Framework 2.0, 1.1 came with my system.

What about ASP.net its the same thing right?

Thankyou so much for your help and patience.
NASA WorldWind requires .NET...that's about all I've seen though.
ASP.net is for building web applications. The dot Net framework is for running and creating applications. I'm presuming NHC was created using the dot NET framework or requires something that the .NET framework includes to work properly.

He's not getting errors in the TEMP directory. The error logs were output there...

With the information you've provided, it's pretty difficult to diagnose the problem.

What other information could I provide?
Have they been happening recently or is it spread out over the time since you've gotten your laptop? Basically what would be useful to know is if this has been happening all along or if something that was changed caused these BSODs.

Windows Installation

For windows installation begin by downloading either the Pre-Compiled Windows package to build a boot-able floppy disk or an ISO (zip version) to create a boot-able CDROM. After the file is downloaded an extract must be done to uncompress the file(s). To extract right click on the downloaded file and select the "Extract All" option. The extract option will let you choose where the files will be extracted to. To build a bootable floppy go the the folder where the files were extracted and click on the Install icon. The floppy disk will appear to be unformatted by Windows after the install is complete.

To build a boot-able CDROM use your CD burning software to create an image from the un-zipped ISO file.

Since Memtest86 is a standalone program it does not require any operating system support for execution. It can be used with any PC regardless of what operating system, if any, is installed. The test image may be loaded from a floppy disk or may be loaded via LILO on Linux systems. Any Unix, Windows or DOS system may be used to create a boot floppy or bootable CDROM.

Also for the record Vegas video (for non-linear editing) requires the .net framework.

What programs could I use to burn the image?

Nero?
yes.. use Nero.. then burn the iso image onto a blank CD, reboot, bootup from CD then test should run automatically.. use this instead:
