ABS conspiracy?

What is with some of the ABS threads getting closed for no apparent reason? And, take my word for it, it has happened on 3 different occasions. I know the board admin. is a Sager guy but I wouldn't think that would have anything to do with it.

I agree I thought it was just me

ABS requested the closing so you can open mouth/insert foot. The post was going no where and I don't want to see all these conspiracies, I only care about the laptop facts and performance and people's experiences with the different laptops out there. This is not a reseller review site and it's not a price fighting site. We're not going to deal with any more posts such as this trying to cause problems, we will just ban and start reporting to ISPs.

Adam, so it doesn't happen anymore could you please tell me what was wrong that was inappropriate. All I wanted was an answer to my question about the missing CD's? Thanks

I concur

Adam, I honestly do understand the first thread closing. Isobar was merely asking questions about his missing items in the last thread. We can't help it if the ABS dude jumps in and trys to assist. If that had been anyone other than the ABS dude offering help would the thread have been closed? Just a question so I know what is hallowed ground and what is not.

Hopefully this will make things more clear:

webweaver and abspc.com are both members that posted in the thread. They both sell laptops of the same type. Now, knowing this, re-read the thread and you'll probably see the "ugly" potential it has.

Thanks Adam. I appoligize for any grief I might have caused the forum.

Gotcha. Okey-dokey, point taken.

Hey dashby maybe you can help me. Did you receive the famous binder with your order? If you did what written documentation if any was there? Also do you notice any break up in sound from your speakers especially during the windows boot up theme? Not constant but sporadic.

Did not get the binder, and have an e-mail into customer service asking about this. I did get a small generic booklet that came with the G1. It seemed to be (and I don't have it with me now to tell you for sure) a brochure on the N258SA, not specifically the G1. Did you get that?
Also, my speakers have never popped or cut out.

Yes I got the booklet you described. I called customer service after receiving the G1 and spoke with Jennifer and she sent out the binder Fed Ex 2nd day. I did receive it with an ABS users guide of sorts mainly directed at their desktop systems and a bunch of color coded empty ziplock bags. I guess I have gotten everything I am supposed to now. Thanks for the info.

So do you think the binded booklet with the baggies is helpful, or even worth the effort of bugging ABS to get? Basically, does it have any really relevant info contained therein?

binder

I bought a desktop from ABS 2 years ago and i find the binder useful. It sits nicely on a bookshelf and holdall the disks and paperwork nicely. IF I make any notes about my pc I put them in the binder also. I just recieved my g1 without a Binder and I will be calling ABS to get one.

Did you get any paperwork with your G1?

Hey, just wondering; does the F2 come with any binders or anything? I don't think I'm missing anything, but it'd be nice...

Abs

I thought all abs pc's came with the binder. The only paper I received was a booklet on the barebones notebook, some packaging from the ram and cd's like recovery and dvd and game cd's. Its similar to the amout of stuff that came with desktops 3 inch binder ececpt there is an ABSPC users manual. When I buy things like routers or joysticks or any computer realted stuff I just file them in the binder. It has 7 color coded zip lock 'baggies' to put things in.

Nope I didn't get any binder. Not to mention bloody ABS didn't take the stupid "notebook" sticker off mine. Oh well, I can live with the sticker

You could always try a razor blade and some rubbing alcohol to get the sticker off. It shouldn't cause any damage if you do it the right way.. Or just get a new/better sticker from somewhere on-line to go over it if you don't want to risk scratching the casing or anything.
