does 3dmark06 lag with x1400?

ati x1400, 1GB, 1.83ghz duo, 5200 hdd speed.

is it worth getting 3dmark06, would it work on my system smoothly?

how much fps should i expect?

(btw, no need to remind me what 3dmark06 is

I highly doubt it would run smoothly with 2006. 2003 or 2005 would give you better results and be a little smoother to watch. When I ran 2006 on mine it looked like a slideshow. I would guess between 800 and 1000 would be about the bext you could get in 2006 without getting too radical in tweaking. 2001 and 2006 are not really meaningfull on an x1300/x1400 just like my 7400 because 2001 is far outdated and doesn't test any of the newer features, and 2006 is meant for the latest and greatest hardware, not low powered portable video cards with less dedicated memory.

That being said, as long as you compare with the same version you still get an idea of how your system is running no matter what version you run.

You wouldnt be happy if you saw it. Try 2003 instead it will make you feel good about your purchase. Most games use this level of graphics and is considered playable. The games out recently max out things and makes it impossible for us to actually play the game (FEAR 1920x1200 is one example)
