How to shorten an audio file?

Hello,

Just curious if anyone knows of a simple way to make a Mp3 shorter? I have a track that is 1.5hrs long and need to make it about half that.

Audacity will require re-encoding, MP3 Direct Cut not.

Didnt say he needed quality Plus the majority of people dont even realise what the difference is.

Well that and Audacity is a pretty safe suggestion on any of the three most popular OSes

Thanks for the ideas. Gonna use the MP3 Direct cut. Looks like a really simple program.

Oly, normally google is key in most situations. I've had some bad luck with dl'n spyware infested files for something so simple. Hence the reason I'm asking

Oh No, I meant google to find direct cut. I fully understand not trusting results to be accurate or safe...
