GeForce 7900GS

Thread Starter
Can I use the standard PA-10 Power adaptor with the GeForce Go 7900GS or do I need to get the PA-13 power adaptor? The reason why I ask is that I had heating issue problems with my GeForce Go 7800 in my E1705 and they are replacing it with the GeForce Go 7900GS.

Thanks

I am pretty sure you need the 130 Watt Power supply
and good ideal to have the high capacity battery as well

Incorrect. You do not need the larger battery or power supply in order to use the 7900GS video card in your 9400 laptop. Just update to A01 BIOS to give full support and proper power management. Then you're all set. No issues, no worries.

Mine was a factory 7900GS / A01 that came with 90W (not sure if its PA-10) power supply. It does get a bit hot to touch but then it doesn't have a fan (unlike desktop PSUs) so it's expected. So far no problems with power. I am having my share of problems with audio. If you are thinking of connecting 6 power-less USB hard drives to it, I'd suggest the 130W one.
