Also after further evaluation I have chosen not to OC my X1600 256mb anymore, as for the current games I play it causes no improvment.

Only Underclock it to save battery.

Thanks, no more BSOD , I can now finally play NFS Carbon. Also I found "motion blur" kind of annoying so I turn it off.

Can someone fill me in on the heat emanating from the keyboard, palm rest? Hot? Warm? etc. I am primarily interested when it is idle, browsing the internet etc.

I ordered a laptop from another company which was a dual 2 core (CPU # T5500?) with a 7600 video card and the keyboard and the spot next to the touchpad became uncomfortably hot even while simply sitting on the desk!

The 7600 was showing 75+C and it was located under and to the right of the touchpad.

Thanks,
Bob

The palmrest st warm, but not uncomfortable at all.

The keyboard stays cool.

CPU never really goes above 67c.
HDD never goes above 45c.

No temp sensor for GPU, but I think the S96J and Z96J are rather cool.

How hot does your laptop get when your playing NFSC

About as hot as normal is when I play games.

Not hot, and not very warm either, its not bad.
