Thread Starter
can I upgrade the video from the intergraded video to a card? any recommendations? also, can I upgrade the sound to non- intergrated sound.

recieved as a gift, but I want what I want.

I saw all can be ordered when configuring a new system, but can it be done after market?

It is not possible to upgrade your video card from integrated to dedicated unless you change the whole motherboard...

Multiple posts? Nah.....You only managed to nearly fill up the entire first page with the same thread LoL

Im not certain but I've read around here that once you go integraded video, you can't upgrade to dedicated video cards.

Well one way is to pop it open and see if there is a graphics slot for a dedicated card.

The next way is a bit extreme, but ive done it ...change your motherboard.
I did this with my e1705 to m1710. (can be expensive)

lastly...sell your laptop and buy another one.

hey, i have a 9400 dell inspiron, with a ATI x1400 video card of 256MB.
The question is that can I upgrade my video card to Nvidia or ATI of 512MB?
Some people say yes, some dont, what is the answer?

Thanks in advanced.

hey, thanks for the reply, really fast! now I am happy and can save some money to buy one.
Yea, but where do you buy it? It's not that easy to find online the unless it's a desktop graphics card. I been trying to get that question answered for sometime and no one is willing to say anything.

You pretty much cant buy them separately, unless, for some odd reason, someone wants to sell theres. Dell pretty much shut the door on them, and is charging 1000 dollars to buy one from Dell. Bal snagged a few, and since then they have been very hard to come buy. Someone was selling one a few days ago. Not sure if its still in the FS forum. If you really have interest in a gaming laptop, im looking to get rid of mine.
