Hey guys,

I got the laptop last week from http://www.newegg.com and its unbelievalble!
There is one HUGE problem though! The mousepad gets so hot after a few minutes use that it burns my finger to use it!

I was just wondering:
1. Is it just my particular laptop, or are you guys having the same problem
2. What can I do about this?

Please help! I just shelled out 1,300 for this and the 3 year warranty and this is a HUGE problem!

download notebook hardware control and check temps. if it is around 53 degree celcius when just surfing the web then it is fine and around 63-68 running games. This model does get hot on the mousepad area so it is not just you.

So what are people doing for a solution for this? Because its almost impossible to use the mousepad its its a pain in the ass to use a usb mouse (especialy when travelling)...

mine gets warm... sometimes very warm. but if yours is that hot it's burning you... i'd say you either have a defective unit or ... I have an idea... let your fingers get burnt and sue Acer for a million dollars like that lady who sued McDonald for the hot coffee lol. Then feel free to give me a cut of that $ for the idea. =p

but assuming you are exaggerating, you spend $10 and buy one of those little USB fans made by Compaq or HP that'll blow air over the keyboard/pad area to keep things cool.

Lets juse say my finger is definetly a little burned after using it last night for a few hours..

Anyway, could you please elaborate on what you mean by the keyboard pad?
Are you refering to a cooling pad such as this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/CustRa...gesize=&Page=2 or something else?

Thanks

Personally, I would use Spire Pacific Breeze Notebook Cooler Model CF300-NEB as it uses the laptop's natural cooling fan inserts, so any air that comes in, would go the same path as if the PC's intake fans were on. Quite a marvelous design in my idea. More direct.

http://www.thinkgeek.com/computing/accessories/5dee/ Something like this would work. The one I use is made by HP that has the fan and a LED light. Aim it at your mousepad or keyboard and it should keep things pretty comfortable. =)

Hello people, i want to buy Acer 5672, but I´m afraid of this overheating around touchpad issue, so can you tell me if you have experienced this as well?
it's just the touchpad that really get's hot, i mean if u use the ePower mgmt software and are doing regular surfing or office apps, just set the core on low, and if you are playing games or 3d heavy apps, wtf are u doing using a touchpad..lol ! ! ! but yea my touchpad get's hot, but it's a really minor drawback, as i never had any performance issues, and this pc, is rated to handle a bit higher temps, and i think a 3 year warranty to be kinda foolish, personally i think the laptop would be obsolete enuff in 2years, should have used that money and bought a bluetooth mouse, and a lapcool.. would handle those issued for you.

It cost me about a bit under $200 so its work it - just in case. Plus, I can always sell it in ~2 years

Thanks for the input.

laptop cooler made by lian li. Probably the best maker of PC cases ever.

Current CPU temp 41 C, and hard drive is 43 C. Cost me 32euros. Touchpad lukewarm, but then I have a wireless mouse...Mine is an ACER 5652.
