from what i can find if i do get one and have any problem from it i will not get it fixedd in under a month and thats if i can get AW to do anything about it.
so tell me again why am i going to spend 5.5k on something to get treated like !@#$.
is there anyone on the forums that have had a good time with AW, from order to ship to first problem with comp.
i am calling my rep today to see whay there story is to day i will let you guys know what thay say is the dely now. i think today will deside if i cancel my order and build my own rig, i realy want a gameing laptop but i don't want to drop the cash on a !@#$ rig and even !@#$er company.
If you're having such a problem with the wait, or the responses to your daily calls, maybe it would be best for you to build your own...
The m9700 I have on order is my sixth Alienware, and I've been very happy with all of mine. I've had one issue with support since 1999, and that is when I was told some parts had shipped, when in fact they'd only been sent to shipping.
For hardware, I had one video card go bad after six months, and they replaced it quickly with a free upgraded card. I also ordered a sound card that I didn't like in one of my systems due to conflicts with some of my games, I called Alienware and they swapped out the card with a more expensive soundblaster, no charge to me including shipping.
Alienware builds the machines to order, they aren't on shelf items ready to go out, and with the overwhelming popularity of the mALX and m9700, they're having issues getting enough hardware to build all the orders. It sucks, but that's the way it is this time with these laptops.
And it is unfortunate that if you have an issue that requires you to ship the system back to Alienware for a repair, it will take some time. These are things that most people understand before buying a $5000+ computer from Alienware or any custom gaming system builder.
I would suggest if you want top notch support and you're willing to pay for it, that you go to Falcon Northwest, but I don't think they offer the SLI laptops at this time.
I understand your frustration, but I wanted to answer your question as to whether anybody was happy with the company.
While you're waiting, you might want to check my website out though it's in need of an update.http://www.home.earthlink.net/~hammerheadweb/
