I don't know how common this problem is, but standby mode seems to be getting worse. A couple of months after purchasing the notebook, it stopped going into standby after closing the lid. Updating the Acer Epower Management software or even a complete reformat and install of XP did not fix the problem. So I thought the heck with it, as long as it goes into standby after the number of minutes i alloted.
While it still works, sometimes it just doesn't seem to go into standby. Several times now I open up my notebook, expecting to wake it up from standby or hibernate and the battery is drained.
It hasn't happened to me yet at a critical time when there was nowhere to plug in, but this is definitely annoying.
Any ideas? I dont wanna have to bring it back to the store unless I have to so I'd like to solve this myself. Any help would be appreciated.
