Thread Starter
After reading so many posts, thanks all. I finally get me XP pro work. However, when I change to the QP 2.0 by pushing the sensor DVD/QP. I loaded sucessfully, but give out the following error before the QP menue comes out.
"unable to reserve hiberfile error:c0000"

Then a wiled thing happen. I can not close the by pushing the power off button. But I close the lid a while and let it standby. Then I open the lid and I push the power off button, it become to restart. Can you give me some suggestions please? Thank you all.

Also I was wondering whether somebody can send me a zipped file in swsetup/HDD to seaside1982@gmail.com . I can 't get my SATA work. Thank you a million.

Contact HP if the file is not on the site yet and they should e-mail you the SATA drivers.

(Another idea... try to find a local vendor, explain to them HP is NOT providing install discs anymore, HP putting the files in the C:\SwSetup folder and that you NEED those files...

I've read a couple of posts by others who took an external hard drive, hooked it up and 6+/- minutes later had copied the entire SwSetup folder.

I would assume whoever you bought the machine from (OfficeDepot) would be "ok", seeing how you bought it from them... You might have luck telling them that would be more cost effective for all concerned than to have to return the unit.

Was that full error code c000007f? That usually means "DISK FULL"

I got it after recreating the QPD partition from Vista. I tried to assign a drive letter to the QPD partition to check the space in it, but the QPD partition gets changed to a unrecognizable type. Nice one, HP. SO, what I did was delete the QPD partition, recreate it as NTFS, X:\\ and reinstalled QPD. It removed the drive letter and locked the partition again. But, windows can still get to it if you use the rmdl.exe utility in the HPQPDP folder.

rmdl.exe x:\\ \\device\\harddisk0\\partition2\\

checking it shows enough space. I hibernated Vista and booted into QPD. This time it installed OK. No error, and QPD hibernates/resumes properly.

.

ArcCoyote...

Good post... if you haven't already please repost the above into the QuickPlay Thread
http://www.notebookforums.com/thread141817.html

(Heck, I'll go ahead and post the info right now... Might help someone..)

For some reason I didn't refer the OP to the QP thread, missed the part about getting XP to "work"... thought for some reason that the machine hadn't been messed with, or I would have refered the OP to the QuickPlay Thread. Thought his main concern was getting a copy of the C:SwSetup folder.

(Guess that's what happens with you have 20 webpages up at the same time.)
