5672 with ati x1400 or 5652 with geforce 7600 - Page 2

Sorry, this is bothering me so I just had to ask. I'm a noobie when it comes to computers and I'm recently just starting to learn about these things.
I'm sure most of you guys know the answer, so any brief one will do

Why does a later model (ACER5672) have a weaker 3dcard than an older model (ACER5652). Specifically, the Nvidia 7600 and the ATIX1600. Is this because the specific design and parts of the 5672 simply work better with ATI?

The 5652 is not older. The 5672 was released before the 5652.

I think you need to go look in a dictionary at the difference between hardware and software lol Directx10 capable gpu's are not a while away at all it is a matter of a few months away: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GeForce_8_Series http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Radeon_R600 Although it's likely the release of most directx10 gpu's will coincide with the release of Vista we may even see the first directx10 capable gpu's running directx 9 but be directx10 ready, in vista capable pc's later this year and before vista's release in january.
