zx5000 SERIOUS battery issue - Page 2

Guys.. Although Comp-USA is full of hourly employees trying to help (They do the best they can).and weve had laptops referred to us from various stores. They cannot have a soldering iron in the tech dept/store.. (Have a friend that went on to start his own Biz from Being a manager)..This is why no repairs will be done other than a board swap, Hard drive change, Or similar. ZX,ZV,And ZD series are all having an over-current issue and solder joint problems. (IMO).. (IMO)... (IMO).. "HP Does not agree". If you want to tackle yourself we will help or if you want to send in we will help. Intel chipset boards are having an Issue w/the supply line diode as well as the jack and the Athlon chipset boards are a pile surfacing GO150 chipset failures due to spiking of the supply line voltage. If you are having a problem buy a media-cable if the AC adapter checks out fine, Run this temp. (TEMPORARILY). Until you can get it sent to us or another shop if you cannot repair. Just a thought. Help! EITHER when I shut down or put my Presario x1000 in standby, it goes into coma. That is, it will not restart by pressing the on/off button (for any length of time) nor when hitting any key to leave stand by. What is necessary is to PATIENTLY jerk the adapter cable in it's contact point until it suddenly starts and/or boots up. In the case of stand-by it goes back to the log on screen and for start up it starts up. It seems like the battery dies too quickly too, but I am not sure about that yet since it "blacks out" and I am not sure when - I havent been able to time it. HELP! Do I need a new adapter? Battery? Something else? Many thanks in advance!
