Warranty just expired and I don't believe I have the LCD protection extended warranty. My LCD flickers now and then and most of the time loses about 4 levels of brightness and thus is semi dim and it gets irritating, other than that I love my 9880 to bits.

Would it be cheaper to have Sager replace the LCD or would

Be a better route? I've never done this before and just wondering if anyone else has. Only other question is about the "Doesn't come with plastic display assembly" note. Not sure what that means but if anyone can enlighten me on best way to replace my screen then please by all means <3

Ah , is the backlight easy to replace? And Can I use any backlight or is there a specific model name I need to get? If anyone knows where I can get one please let me know. Getting ready to head to iraq and would love to get this baby back to its full beauty ^^;;

There are other 98xx owners on this forum who have had this problem. Do a search through the forums to find them, and ask them what the problem was and how they got it fixed. Alternatively you might want to call Sager and ask them; they might be able to tell you without sending it in what the problem is and how much it would cost to fix.
