FINALLY - willyb311's m9700 review - Page 4

How do you guys think this compares to the malx? I have one on order so I am interested on any opinions you guys might have . I could always chang my order to the 9700 so after seeing all the great reviews I am kind of on the fence. What about screen quality here guys I know the 9700 has a better resolution but numbers aside do you think there would be a noticable difference if they were side by side? And if so how much? Also wondering how they do on downloading stuff on the web and just surfing as well. I like the malx for the bigger screen and paint job and I am aware it is overpriced. But it looks so cool. I am going to be financing this and I am not rich so I just want to know in the long run which system will be better for the money? Thanks in advance! And congrats on all your sweet systems...

Well, I for one considered getting the mALX during the pre-order stage. The big thing for me was the resolution - the second big thing was the overall size of the notebook. I am sure that the mALX is a wonderful notebook and since you really don't play games a max resolution - it would work wonderfully anyways.

Now that I have my m9700, I am completely pleased with it. For what I use it for, it would have been too big. Plus, I have not really been too impressed with the benchmarks I have seen coming from the mALX. For the money, in my opinion, the m9700 beats all.

For websurfing and business applications, it works fast and I have not had any problems (I regularly use outlook, excel, word, and powerpoint and push them to their limits) This thing has so much as blinked while running ANY office applications. I've got the regular wireless networking card and it works great with my home wifi setup.

Dude, you have to decide what you want, and what you want to pay for. Either machine would be awesome - evaluate what you are going to be using it for, consider each machines size, features and portability and make you decision based on that. Everyone here is going to give you advice based on their experience, and unfortunately, none of us is rich enough to have both machines to compare...

Good luck!
