1210 fans - Page 2

All 3 componenets share one fan along a copper rod(heatpipe maybe?)

Southbridge transfer heat first, then GPU, then the CPU, finally arriving at the Heatsink with the fan. So the heat does "add" up.

I'm relieved to hear these assurances from you guys. At least now I know that my M1210 is at least quite "normal" in terms of the fans running...

Does anyone know if taking it apart and reapplying the thermal paste (and replacing it with AS5, of course) would affect the warranty? If it'll drop the temps a few degrees, it's worth a shot, but not at the expense of my long warranty.

Flash!, I believe doing so will void your warranty, not 100% on it, but still I would inquire with Dell first.

Yeah, I wouldn't recommend it if it'll void your long warranty.

do it, youll be fine. just keep the old pad in an envelope. they used a thermal pad on my i6000 1.6 i just kept it tucked away.

AS5, in the 6000, cooled it down 10c. thats worth it in any notebook
