Is it possible to bypass phone support?

Thread Starter
I have a Ferrari 4000 which has a deteriorating video card and halfway broken power button. I filled out the depot repair request form online and was automatically given a service reference number and an express service ID. My question is, do I need to talk to tech support on the phone now that I have these numbers? It seems that the SR number is all you really need to write on the box when you send it in. Has anyone ever tried to get service using this method?

As an aside, I was looking for a tool like PC Doctor to diagnose the problem with my video card. I am seeing core and memory artifacts, and my computer has colorfully locked up several times. Are there any tools available to the end user to diagnose Radeon cards? If I am to call tech support, I want to be able to shove a diagnostic report in the rep's face so I don't have to go through two hours of routine tests.

Thanks,
Patrick

Long as you got the SR number and the Emails fromAcer that tells you how to package it and where to send it, you should be fine, but why not just call in then you get free shipping
