oob you need to give us more info. the gateway convertible can be had w/ many differnet configurations, e.g., single and duo core proc, integrated vid or choice of two diff ati cards x600 and x1400 (iirc). so in order to tell you whether you're looking at a good deal you need to give more system details.

here's what you get at best buy for 1499 (they had it about 150 lower in the last month. the m280 is the small business (i believe) version of the c2620.

14" WXGA TFT-LCD widescreen swivel display with digitizer and stylus; Continuous Sensing Technology for digital ink precision

100GB SATA hard drive (5400 rpm)

ATI Mobility RADEON X600 SE graphics with 128MB HyperMemory video memory (total of the local and available shared system memory used by the GPU; 64MB local onboard video memory)

5-in-1 digital media manager supports Secure Digital, MultiMediaCard, Memory Stick, Memory Stick PRO and xD-Picture Card

IEEE 1394 (FireWire) interface and 3 high-speed USB 2.0 ports for fast digital video, audio and data transfer

Built-in 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet LAN with RJ-45 connector; SecureEasySetup; V.92 high-speed data fax/modem

Weighs 6.9 lbs. and measures just 1.4" thin for portable power; lithium-ion battery

Microsoft Windows XP Tablet PC Edition 2005 operating system preinstalled; software package included with Microsoft Digital Image Starter Edition 2006, Microsoft Office OneNote 2003, CyberLink PowerDVD and more

of course you can completely customize one at gateway.
