trackpad problems

i am borrowing a friends alienware laptop (not so used to using windows as i am a mac person generally) and the trackpad is driving me CRAZY. whenever i am typing something if i accidentally touch the track pad it moves the insertion point etc.. very irritating. on a mac it is easy to adjust this - to either disable the mouse when using the keyboard, or at least make it so you can't use the tapping function on the pad. i can't figure out how to adjust this in windows though.. can anyone help me out here???

Assuming you have the Area 51m2 (plus many other laptops) you can DISABLE the trackpad. On the Area 51m, press Fn+F12, this should disable the trackpad, to re-activate do the same thing!!

oops , i meant assuming that he was inquiring on the Area 51m. The same solution could be applied to other laptops because most others have a 'disable trackpad' option.

Likewise. I dislike the tap feature.
