BIOS problems

Hi notebook people.

I have a Dell Latitude 110L, only two months old. Quite often, when I boot or restart from hibernate (which I do 99%) of the time, it tells me that the date and time are not set, and asks me to press F2 to go to BIOS (well, the Dell version of it), and reset the data and time. if I don't reset the time, and boot anyway, the clock starts at 00:00 on a certain date in the last century!

This repeats nearly everyday day. I am starting to worry. Can anyone help me with that?

Thanks
Regards
Nad

You need a new BIOS battery, and you only need to post the thread once.

Thanks for the advice ExplodingLemur

Spaxspore, I don't get you here. Either I need to revise my definition of spamming or your should explain to me what you mean.

Concerning the double posting, I was not sure the first one went through, cos I had probs while posting. Then I posted again in another category (more specific to Dell). Please note that I don't have your experience in forums.

Getting back to the bios stuff: does a BIOS battery last only two months?

Thanks
Nad

You made 3 threads about the same topic in the same section of forum (notebook general) , IE spamming the forum.

No, and being only 2 months old, it should be covered by warranty service.
