I purchased this Nook Color specifically because I was taking a very long trip to China and wanted to be able to read without carrying a ton of books. I also liked that it had email capability...
This is an awesome mouse with an excellent grip for a mid sized to large size hand. Right-handed, comfortable, trendy, upscale, red, responsive, functional, task oriented.
Overall A+++
Fantastic had this machine 6 months and can honestly say have had no bother with it. Plays games better than most desktops and keeps up with the rest which is outstanding for a...
I 've tried it in the past, and it has this nasty habit of switching off my fans at random, until they kick back on at a much higher temperature than I'd like. Has this been fixed, or is there a workaround?
Yeah they don't seem to switch off any more and are working pretty well with the 1710. The only thing I notice is stuttering from time to time for a fraction of a second when the fan goes to down throttle, but then comes right back up.

Yeah it would be nice if someone could find a fix. Even without a fix this lappy is staying really cool thx to i8kfangui. My card is idle at 49C with both fans on slow. Should be fun overclocking this 1710 when the game Crysis comes out lol.
On my 1705, the sumbitches just stay on max the whole time, can't turn them off. They cool well, but I had to do a restart to get them to go back to normal. Nice to have for gaming and video encoding.
Well I installed i8kfangui V3.0 beta 5, and it still turns off my fans, as it has now done so. Both the CPU and GPU are now off, and are heating up. The Dell bios kicks them in after they heat up too much, but this program really bites. You'd a think a fan program with this many versions would be able to keep your fans on by now. I even have a tick in "Maintain minimum fan speed."
I just can't seem to be able to make the fans stay high between 60-50C etc on my GPU, or 50-40 on my CPU, etc. The settings just don't seem to work. Any advice anyone?
Thanks for the help. I'm just going to leave it in Observer mode (since I like the monitoring) but not have any fan modifications. The Dell bios does it fine anyway it seems to me.
Well it does work, it just has some issues like stuttering on high speeds.
Without the program my 2 fans bootup in the off position. The card will idle in the high 50's and sometimes 60's. They don't appear to turn on untill I game etc.
With i8kfangui and both fans booting up in slow mode, my card idles st 49, and sound isn't band at all. Now even if the card idles at 70 without i8kfangui its not a big issue.
When games like Crysis come out and ppl want to overclock, I would rather have my card overclocked and cool.
I'm now using your settings, and they appear, so far, to work just fine. Thank you. I do agree with you that the Dell bios doesn't turn the fans on soon enough. My GPU was idling at 65C, and now it's at 41C with the fans on low.
Thanks.

question, how do u guys OC the 7900gs? what program do you guys use? I8fangui reads the GPU temp at 129F(54C), is this normal? any my CPU load is at 34%, is this normal too?

Can't answer that question for you. There are a lot of threads with help on that.
I still think i8kfangui doesn't work correctly. Periodically the fans both just shut off. I even decided to forego the whole thing and just leave it set to "maintain minimum fan speed" and EVEN THEN the fans still periodically turn off.
