Is dead pixel guarantee worth it?

I really like the Mitac 8355, but I'm seriously worried about the possibility of getting one or more dead/stuck pixels on the LCD. Hypersonic is the only reseller I've found that has a dead pixel guarantee, and they are slightly overpriced and slow to ship.

So, the question is: based on everyone's experience, do you feel that I should even be worried about getting dead/stuck pixels? If I can order the same notebook for less and get it faster, I'd rather go with a reseller like R&J Technology or CyberPower. But if you think the likelihood of getting some ebil pixels is high enough, I'll probably go with Hypersonic, just because I'll be assured that the screen is perfect.

I, personally, wouldn't get to hung up on that issue. Sure, it happens (I'm guessing rarely, and has not happened to me), but it's such an intangible I wouldn't let it serve as a factor in deciding what notebook to buy.

Basically, there are 2 very important considerations: your own personal tastes, and the economics of your purchase. I definately recommend heavy reading and research on these forums to develop your own personal criteria, but don't sweat the small stuff (i.e. the possiblity that sometime down the road you "might" kill a pixel).

most sellers have a 30 day return policy anyway. so if you find a dead pixel you can't live with, just return the notebook and order again.
