Recently, in my never ending quest for finding a notebook, I emailed a question to Sony about the harddrive rpms in their Vaio notebooks. The response I got was:
"We do not have any notebooks that have a 7200 rpm hard drive and those hard drives are only available on the desktop computers. It would also not be advisable on upgrading the hard drive to a faster rpm because you can overheat the components on the inside and it would void the warranty for the that part."
Now, I was wondering what the possibilities were of something like the overheating happening. Has anyone had any experience in upgrading their harddrive to a faster rpm or have any knowledge they would like to pass on to me? Any help and I will be eternally grateful
