Hey guys, I just thought that I would show some photos of boot camp running on the mbp.
Once again if you have any questions on the topic feel free to ask and I'll do my best to answer.

(Later I will try to put up some battlefield 2 pics)

Windows never looked better.

Do you run into any problems installing bootcamp?

Also, what issues after you installed it... mouse, keyboard, etc.

I'm considering getting a MBP, but my use will be totally work related. So, should I consider the MBP for software development running Windows XP?

while installing bootcamp I didn't run into any problems at all. The boot camp installer and PDF are a great help. First you install boot camp and once you run the program it starts by burning you a CD of Mac drivers, ( Network, Airport, bluetooth, eject button, screen brightness and sound drivers)
once your CD is finished burning the program then takes you to another screen that helps you make the partiton. it's very simple from there, you put in your windows Xp installation CD with service pack 2 then the mac reboots and enters into the windows install.

After you install windows it gets EVEN easier. you pop in the CD that you burned and then it installs ALL the drivers, you don't have to go and install everything individually, the CD installs all the drivers for you, then you reboot and voila your good to go.

So far I haven't encountered any problems, all I use windows for is battlefield 2. I did try the bluetooth connection to see if it worked well and it did (connected to a cellphone)
If I do run into any problems I'll let you guys know

do the screen savers/ power management work on the 17MBP?

they do not on my macbook. i would keep it if the lcd would shut off.

Chevy...I don't know if it fixes your problem or if you even tried it but Apple silently released a new version of BootCamp without any details as to what's changed. Might be worth it to download the new version and burn a new driver CD.

I know that the power management options are included with my driver CD, I was able to put full performance on AC and balanced performance on battery, is that what you mean? I got an Ati tool bar with my setup that gives FULL Gpu customization (except for upclocking)

I hope they fixed the system buttons. On my friend's 15" MBP, the brightness, volume, etc buttons didn't work in windows. Had no way to adjust the lcd brightness. Sorta shitty in my opinion. Hopefully they fixed that. Since they must be officially supporting bootcamp now (no longer beta) because they advertise it in their *beeeep* commercials. *twitch* Sorry, they just get under my skin, which i suppose means they're working?
They've always supported "bootcamp", they've never supported Windows, however.

BootCamp is and was beta.

just to address your concern, they actually did fix the display brightness under windows. (however there is still much work to be done)

I understand, but they're advertising this ability to run 'windows' on commercials. That's my problem with it.

Calvin, good to hear they fixed some things! That makes me feel better.

And you can run Windows, what's the problem?

Hi,

I too am planning to purchase a 13" MB. I am told that Windows forgets the clock after shut down. Is this true?

Secondly, do you know if it's possible to eliminate OS X completely from the system and use only WIN XP after making the drivers CD?

Thanks!
I heard something about the clock but both Windows and OS X synchronise through the internet so it's not a big deal.

sorry but there isn't anyway that you can get rid of windows completely, no way that I know of anyway.

hey C@lv!n...

How hot does your 17-inch MBP get? I'm looking to get one but have been told to stay away from the MBP's because they get ridicuously hot, which could have damaging effects in the long run. How is it running in general by the way? any complications?

thanks...

my MBP gets hot in the upper left hand corner right under the screen, also just above the F keys. however my hand never goes there. It only gets that hot whenever I play games though, for just regular usage I don't find that it gets too hot. (I never use it in my lap)

However for now I have no complaints, I use it primarily for music production and (BF2)

thanks for the reply...

sweet, good to hear, yeah I'm leaning towards the 17-inch MBP. I'm most likely going to end up getting it, only a matter of time. So apparently the video card comes underclocked, but I remember reading somewhere that it only comes underclocked in the 15-inch MBP, but not the 17-inch one. Did yours come underclocked?

just out of curiosity, why did you go for the 17-inch instead of the 15-inch?
