If your going to wait for the next CPU, wait til next year for a different revision. Revision A products from APPLE are horrible!

A new revision of the laptops and the iMacs are due any time now...generally every 6 to 9 months. No need to wait till next year.

New Intel Chips you don't know what to expect. I would just be cautious with Apple because of their slick design with a powerful = heat. Just warning him because of my bad experience I had with a Revision A PB 12". Currently the Macbook pro is on Revision E.

No, it's still on Revision A. All the "revisions" since have been very minor things to address problems. The next actual revision will show at least one or two major changes and will garner an announcement from Apple. It's not a true revision unless it's announced by Apple.

Even the latest ones have heat problems. I know they're revisions, but only Apple considers them revisions. When Apple announces a new version that's the one you want to call revision B.

people with week 10s 11s& 12s have had pretty bad heating problems and weeks 9s as well, at least this is my understanding after hanging out in the apple forums that is pretty much the consensus ..mine runs ok at no more than 47-49 deg C..mine is week 22..when i put new ram in, i also replaced the thermal grease with artic silver and noticed a big difference..to find out which version(week) MBP u have its on the serial number fourth or third character in..i forget which here are some nice pics: http://www.macdevcenter.com/pub/a/ma...-question.html http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=202247 http://www.engadget.com/2006/05/01/m...hermal-grease/ http://www.ifixit.com/Guide/85.1.0.html
