Hi i'm Actualy a PC And Mac User,
I mainly Use Mac at Home for browsing, keeping media files , etc.
but @ work, i need a PC cause my database @ work is using Microsoft SQL

Yeah actually i can use my Mac Book Pro in windows, but i need to have a "true" WIndows notebook to work, in case anything happen and also is good to have 2 laptop, 1 can be use as spare in case the other one is faulty cause i don't have any desktop @ work or @ home.

I use a 15" MacBookPro 2.0 GHz @ home and i;m looking a small 12' or 10' Windows laptop to bring along with me everyday to work.

and i don't do gaming, only office stuff.
But it need to be a little bit fast and not too hot.
cause i'm gonna use it as a database server in my company and the other about 5 (eg.cashier, store room, etc) other PCs in my shop will be connected to it and read or write the database as clients, by LAN or Wirelles, and it need to be cool enough to run about 12 hours a day nonstop!

Actually i have Acer Ferrari 4005 WLMi and Asus W1N in hand at the momment but the Size is too big for me to carry it to my work everyday cause both is 15'4' WSXGA.

So i'm thinking to sell both of them and buy a 12'

And in the momment i can only think about :

-IBM Think Pad X60S: Intel Core Duo Low Voltage 1.66GHZ, 512MB DDR2, 80GB HDD, 12' XGA LCD - The BAd thing is that the Optical Drive is External
@ About US$1500

-Asus W5F: Intel Core Duo 1.66GHZ, 1GB DDR2, 80GB HDD, 12'1' WXGA LCD, Internal DVDRW Double Layer @ about US$1450

-Acer Travelmatte 3012 WTMi: Intel Core Duo 2.0 GHZ, 512MB DDR2, 80GB HDD, -The BAd Thing is that the Optical Drive is External @ About US$ 1600

-Fujitsu LIfe Book P1510: Intel Centrino Pentium M 1.2GHz, 512MB DDR2, 30GB HDD, 8'9' WSVGA - THe bad thing is external Optical drive and It uses WinXP Tablet PC version, i wonder how does it compared to standard WInXP pro? @ About US$ 1650

-Sony Vaio VGN T 350P: Intel Centrino 1.2GHZ, 512MB DDR2, 60GB HDD, DVDRW, 10'6' WXGA@ about US$1500

-TwinHead Stylebook 12D: Intel Celeron M 1.6Ghz, 512MB DDR2, 60GB HDD, DVD-CDRW Combo 12' XGA @ About US$820 (the bad thing is Celeron, and i seldom heard about Twinhead and it's durrabillity)

-NEC Versa L1100: Pentium M 1.7GHZ, 512MB DDR1, 40GB HDD, DVD-CDRW combo 13'1' WXGA @ about US$ 750 (the bad thing is i seldom heard about NEC and it's durrabillity)

Ok that's about everything small enough that available radilly in my country,
I don't do gaming and i don;t need super fast notebook casue as i said i normally use my MacBookPRo to do editing , rendering and stuff,
i just need a small notebook to carry to work everyday, good reliabillity as my company data will be stored there mainly as a server, and doesnt run too hot cuse it'll be on at least 12 hour a day. and the software i intend to use on it is only microsoft SQL Server, office, that;s all. and for SQL do i really need a "fast" proccesor ?

Please advice me with which one is the best of the bunch and which one is the best buy.
of course the cheaper the better, but i also need reliabillty and my budget is about US2000

thax for the advice ?

or should i wait till the ed of the month to get a 12' Ferrari with Turion 64 X2 ?
i wonder that is tthe different with my ferrari's Turion 64???

Thx for the help and so sorry if i burden u all here :P

I would go with the IBM/Lenovo X60. It has over 10hrs battery life
Thinkpads are reliable and build quality is top notch. They have one of the best keyboards + pointing device available. SQL doesn't require much cpu power. Any of those laptops will handle with ease. It also has lots of security features including an air bag for your hard disk
Thinkpads are probably the best business notebooks ever made.

Check out ultra portable laptops reviews:

The x60 stand out.

Another question is that i have this Viesonic 19" wide LCD 1440x900

will any of those 12' with their "shared" vram will be able to dispaly on the LCD with the LCD's native resolution?

Well, I've done a lot of looking and the X60 kicks every other ultraportable's butt by a mile. Probably in part because they left out the optical drive. I don't know about you, but I almost never use an optical drive...just a drive emulator or docking when needed. Every other ultraportable compromises on HD, processor, or RAM. In the X60s you get standard notebook parts inside a light package and massive battery life. Seems worth it to me.
